The Jornadas Tropicales Internacionales, organised by the Asociación Española de Tropicales, celebrated its eighth edition focused in water for agriculture.
The panellists and more than 350 attendees discussed key issues such as the need to invest in soil desalination (one of the areas of expertise of our partner Aqua 4D), optimising water consumption and finding solutions to the dangerous drought.
But there was also talk of tropical crops, such as pitaya or mango… and, of course, of AVOCADO, which had its moment of glory when the new variety, called Luna, developed by the University of California, and characterised by its productivity, was presented. There was also space to explain the results of scientific research on the flowering of the plant and on the prevention of aerial pests that attack avocado plantations.
